Welcome to Cambodia! Your tour guide & driver will welcome you from the airport and transfer you straight to your accommodation for a few hours rest.

Your afternoon sunset tour starts driving the Siem Reap countryside crossing the river we wind our way along red clay roads, through a variety of local villages, crossing small farms and passing school children on their way home.

After a brief stop with light refreshment, we bypass the crush of visitors exiting the Park and instead follow the charming backroads, past stunning rice fields and small, historic family parcels where life appears unchanged for generations. Then, we make our way towards the west edge of the Angkor Park to explore the remarkable historic site in a different context.

To end the evening we take a peaceful Dragon Boat ride on the moat of Angkor Thom, with local delicacies including soft drink and red wine onboard.

Day 2 : Angkor Sunrise, temples tour & Massage

Today, begin your journey with an early morning, our guide will find the best spot to view the sunrise and take perfect photos. Then head down to explore the ancient temple at its most atmospheric, bathed in the warm glow of the morning sun. We’ll head into the inner sanctum of Angkor Wat to admire the carvings and architecture of the temple before having breakfast.

Following the main road to Angkor Thom, replete with stone sculptures depicting demons and deities. Learn about the cultural significance of the Bayon Temple, the Terrace of the Leper King, and the Royal Enclosure from your guide. After roaming around Bayon, we will take a short break to enjoy our light refreshment to keep your energy level up before getting in our jeep again and continuing to the Elephant Terrace.

We’ll then go through Angkor off roads on the way to visit Ta Prohm temple. Be ready for this iconic temple which is overgrown by jungle trees and vines, with many parts of the temple crumbling to the ground. You’ll return to town through Cambodian villages that offer a glimpse into rural life.

A relaxing massage this afternoon ends an active day, then you will be free to explore the city of Siem Reap independently this evening with some suggestions from your guide.

Know before you go

Eating & Drinking

Cambodian cuisine has developed a reputation for its flavours and originality and it’s well worth trying out a few of the local delicacies. We’re obsessed with local food because we believe every region is revealed through its cuisine. Our tours have a culinary focus: think restaurants off the beaten path, intimate cooking classes, and local dining.
Drinking water is included throughout the holiday as the tap water in Cambodia is not safe to drink; your leader will buy large water containers for you to refill your bottle from.

Cambodia has two distinct weather seasons but we can travel all year round in Cambodia. Our wet season runs from May to September and the dry season from October until April and the heaviest rainfall usually in August & September. The cooler is 24°C around November/December and hottest hitting 35°C around April/May.

International flights, to and from the start and finish points are not included in the tour price. Once your tour is Guaranteed to Depart you can book your flight. Please contact us for advice before arranging flights for the best arrival and departure times. We would only cancel a trip for an extreme circumstance, but in that case, where we cancel your trip, we cannot be liable for losses incurred relating to any flight booking you have made. Please claim any losses from your travel insurance that you acquired when you booked your holiday.

Visas & Passport

All nationalities require a visa and a passport valid for 6 months after their planned exit from Cambodia. A 30-day visa on arrival is available at Phnom Penh and Siem Reap Airports and at some land border crossings. You can also obtain a visa online through e-Visa. There is 3-day processing time and you’ll need a scanned copy of the passport. Not all border crossings accept the e-Visa, please check this port of entry page which provides a list of which checkpoints support the e-Visa service. For a list of consulates/embassies abroad go to this page.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is not covered in the tour price. You can organize travel insurance with your preferred insurance company. As medical facilities in Cambodia are rather limited, so it is imperative for you to take out a good medical insurance policy when travelling.

Vaccinations and Malaria Prevention

You will undoubtedly require vaccinations for your visit to Cambodia. Please consult your doctor or a vaccination clinic for the most up-to-date advice. They will also be able to advise you of the most suitable anti-malarial medication if required. It is important that you do this well in advance of your departure date.
