This quick getaway to Siem Reap offers a guided jeep tour of one of Cambodia’s most iconic and historic cities. Siem Reap offers a step into the crumbling world of the lost Khmer Empire, with the showpiece of Angkor at its heart.
Firstly, you will explore Ta Prohm and the lesser-known temples of Banteay Srei with your private guide. The next day, you will explore a stunning sunrise at Angkor Wat, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is adorned with grand lotus towers and ornate carvings and reigns as the largest religious monument in the world. Your guide will then take you to the Grand Circuit temple of Angkor Thom and end the day with a sunset boat ride.
The following day, you will explore Roluos temple, dating back to the 9th century and the reign of King Indravarman I. Then take a deep journey to the floating village and immerse yourself in the authentic local culture of vibrant village life.
Welcome to Cambodia! Your tour guide and driver will welcome you from the airport and transfer you straight to your accommodation for a few hours of rest.
In the evening, transfer to have a delicious Khmer dinner at the famous Viroth’s restaurant, with its unique and beautiful setting and garden, before going to see the Phare Circus performance. It combines local traditions with new creative and innovative genres. Daring athleticism is combined with stories that speak powerfully to Cambodia’s not-too-distant history; for example, escape from tyranny is depicted through tightrope walking.
Today, we travel by jeep to Ta Prohm, pausing to collect your entry passes at the Archaeological Park Entrance. Ta Prohm is cloaked in dappled shadow, its crumbling towers and walls locked in the slow muscular embrace of vast root systems. Undoubtedly, it is one of the most picturesque and atmospheric ruins in the Angkor complex. Take your time with your private guide through the temple, from the West entrance to the East entrance, where you will rejoin our driver.
After exploring this iconic temple, we will then visit Banteay Srei. This red sandstone temple is one of Angkor’s most significant structures as its walls are decorated with elaborate carvings, which have been preserved remarkably well. Originally built in the 10th century, this temple was dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva.
Rising at the crack of dawn, taking a deep breath and getting ready to experience the once-in-a lifetime-experience when you can see the most beautiful sunrise at Angkor Wat. Enjoy the stunning views and learn how the rising sun brings the temples to life. Then head down to explore the ancient temple at its most atmospheric, bathed in the warm glow of the morning sun. We’ll head into the inner sanctum of Angkor Wat to admire the carvings and architecture of the temple.
After exploring Angkor Wat, you will return to your accommodation and have time to rest before exploring the walled city of Angkor Thom, which was the masterpiece of King Jayavarman VII. Enter the city through the ancient gate, an impressive stone gate carved with elephants and four giant faces. From here, continue to Bayon Temple, which is located at the exact centre of the Angkor Thom city, also known as the “Giant Face Temple”. Your guide will point out the most interesting of the detailed bas reliefs illustrating everyday life in the Angkorian era. We conclude the tour at the moat of Angkor Thom and take a peaceful cruise on a rowboat with Canapés and enjoy sunset drinks whilst sailing on the complex’s vast moat.
Today, we travel back in time to one of the earliest capitals in the Angkor area, Hariharalaya, now known as the Rouluos group temple. There are three key Hindu structures that remain: Lolei, Bakong, and Preah Ko temple, which were all part of the ancient city of Hariharalaya. You will walk approximately 3 km as you explore these peaceful ruins, meeting villagers along the way.
Then, we head to Kampong Pluk and, aboard your private boat, visit a floating village, built entirely on stilts in the Tonle Sap, the lake at Cambodia’s centre. See the little school, Buddhist temple, and shops before puttering off to a floating fishing village and a flooded forest, where – if water levels are high enough – you can pass amongst the branches by boat. The voyage will finish around mid-afternoon, leaving the rest of your day at leisure.
The tour concludes today. Breakfast is included, and checkout time at the hotel is noon. We will have a jeep waiting to take you to the airport in Siem Reap, but you may wish to stay longer. We have some excellent activities to recommend.
An elegant hotel located close to the 12th century UNESCO ruins of Angkor in the heart of Siem Reap. With Khmer-inspired contemporary architecture and design touches, the Viroth’s Hotel is a tranquil urban oasis, with cool, crisp white colonnades leading to the 20-metre long saltwater pool. The spacious sundeck is inviting after a day of temple touring, as is the tranquil spa.

Jeep is fantastic, comfortable and amazing! We had only one day in Siem Reap for Angkor temple, so we decided to do Jeep tour. Our guide Ben was incredible, he well known in Angkor and Cambodian history and he was great at photos taking too. Cambodian meal we had and cool drinks during the day was great too!
Thank Jeep Tours and our guide Ben! Highly recommended!!
This was such an astounding visit and I made some extraordinary memories, the visit guides Nimol was so entertaining to be close and genuinely made the visit a considerable amount all the more enchanting for everyone! The motivation worked sublimely of displaying the best of Cambodia and durable memories were surrounded with the people we met the courses. I do wish we would have burnt through more effort in Siem Reap as I feel we simply watched a particularly little bit of the city. All things considered I thought the visit was astounding and I made such an enormous number of mind blowing allies and courses, fairly costly especially given how humble Cambodia is in any case I can barely wait to do various visits!
Truly delighted in the tour arrangement. The tour programs had a decent blend of verifiable locales, historical sites and cultural experience. Our driver and vehicle were great. They greeted us at the airport. The Hotels and the locations were just beautiful. They did a very good job of meeting our needs. The tour guide was magnificent in giving us to know of the authentic ancient temples and to see local cultures. I would definitely recommend this company and will use them again.
