Bayon temple is located in the exact center of the Angkor Thom city, known as the “Giant Face Temple”. It is a remarkable and photogenic temple which was built nearly the end of the 12th century. What makes it unique is the smiling faces which jut out of the rocks and greet you with their warm disposition.

Ta Prohm Temple

The most breathtaking ruined temple in the jungle which literally take over the Angkor complex. It is also the most recognized location for filming where the movie Tomb Raider was filmed and made it’s becoming one of the most atmospheric and photographed temples. Additional Information

There are various ticket options for tourists to choose the duration for temple visit. The tickets range from a 1-day pass to a 7-day pass depending on your curiosity level! Please be noted that from every ticket sold, $2 will be donated to the Swiss-owned Kantha Bopha hospital which provides children with free health care. The price list is as follows:

  • 1-day pass – $37 USD
  • 3-day pass – $62 USD (has to be used within a week)
  • 7-day pass – $72 USD (has to be used within a month)

To buy the ticket, you will have to enter the ticket center where you have to be prepared for a flood of tourist groups. The staff will help you to take a picture which will be printed on the ticket ID for Angkor Wat entrance.

Things to be prepared for the trip

  • Clothing: Cambodia is a conservative country, especially when it comes to religious sites. Please be reminded to wear clothing that covers your knees and shoulders for temple visit. It is the way to respect local culture at the same time enjoy visiting this beautiful country.
  • Putting on Mosquito repellentPutting on Sun-cream: probably the most essential – as you will be under the sun most of the time during the day exploring the temples, there is limited shade.
  • Wearing Hat: helps to avoid the sun’s rays.
  • Bringing Personal fan: if you worry about the heat, you are encouraged to bring a portable and electric fan.
